Are you a recent graduate looking to begin a career in teaching? This Graduate Teacher Training opportunity offers a structured, hands-on pathway into the classroom, providing valuable experience while preparing you for formal teacher training.

We are working in partnership with a number of supportive secondary schools across Northampton to offer Graduate Teacher Training placements starting immediately. These roles are ideal for aspiring teachers who want to gain real classroom experience before progressing onto a PGCE, SCITT, QTS, or teacher apprenticeship route.

This is a full-time, paid position designed to develop your classroom confidence and professional skills. You will work closely with experienced teachers, gradually taking on more responsibility as you build expertise in lesson delivery, behaviour management, and student engagement.

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons with guidance from qualified teachers

• Support students across a range of subjects and key stages

• Provide targeted one-to-one or small group interventions

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment

• Assist with lesson planning, classroom resources, and general administration

• Gain practical experience to strengthen future teacher training applications

• Graduates from any discipline, particularly English, Maths, Science, or Humanities

• Individuals with experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching)

• Confident communicators with strong interpersonal skills

• Aspiring teachers seeking classroom experience prior to formal training

• Professional, proactive, and reliable candidates with a passion for education
