Shifts:                  07.00am – 16.00pm Monday – Thursday.  07.00am – 1pm Fridays.

Job Description:

TXM Recruit are actively recruiting for a Grinder to work within the production team to support the overhaul, manufacture, and maintenance of locomotive components, contributing to the delivery of the weekly production plan. This is a hands-on mechanical role, requiring precision, attention to detail, and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Job Duties:

• Operate grinding machines (surface, cylindrical, bench, angle grinders)
• Smooth, sharpen, or polish metal or other materials
• Remove excess material, burrs, or welds
• Measure parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards
• Inspect finished pieces for defects
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment
• Read blueprints or work orders

Qualifications / Skill Sets

Hands-on mechanical engineering experience.

Experience operating grinders.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.

Programming experience would be an advantage.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
