Handyman / Fabric Technician

Job Description:

Our client, a well-established leader in the Building Services sector, is seeking a skilled Handyman / Fabric Technician to become a key part of their team. Based at one of their sites in Burton-on-Trent, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of the facility.

Job details:

• Responsible for fabric-related PPM and reactive works to meet customer expectations:
• Basic Plumbing work.
• Flooring and ceiling works.
• Carpentry.
• Painting and decorating.
• General handy man tasks including fitting and repairing locks, hinges and handles.
• Door Fitting / Repairs.
• Carrying out basic electrical works - Emergency light testing.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of documentation.
• Maintain the plant rooms, roof and fire exits to company standards and ensure all plant and equipment is well maintained.
• Inducting subcontractors, reviewing rams and assisting where possible.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Apprentice trained (desirable).
• Qualified to Level 3 as a minimum (NVQ/BTEC/ONC).
• 18th Edition wiring regs (desirable).
• Must have previous experience in a similar role.
• Ability to use internal IT systems.
• Ability to work from instruction and make decisions as needed with minimal supervision.

What’s on offer:

• Salary: £32,000
• Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 16:30pm (Working 1 in 3 weekends including Saturday & Sunday with the following Monday & Tuesday off)
