Roles and Responsibilities:

• Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils’ well-being following statutory provisions
• Lead and manage the Mathematics faculty to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes
• Shape and implement a challenging, engaging and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
• Drive improvement in progress and attainment across all key stages through strategic planning, effective use of data and a focus on high-quality classroom practice
• Inspire and develop a team of dedicated professionals through mentoring, coaching and effective performance management
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment and resources to ensure consistency and excellence across the department
• Promote a culture of high expectations, enthusiasm for learning and a love of mathematics throughout the school
• Contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement initiatives as part of the extended leadership team

Qualifications and Experience:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline
• A proven track record of successful teaching and leadership in Maths at secondary level
• Read the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2025 document)

Vetting Checks:

• Right to Work in the UK (No Limitations)
• Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Child/Child & Adult Workforce)
• Reference checks covering the last 2 years of employment or education
