Health and Safety Advisor

Burton on Trent | £50,000 + Car Allowance and Benefits

Do you enjoy working closely with site teams and managers to improve standards, reduce risk and support a strong health, safety and environmental culture?

We are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to support a successful and growing businesses operating across a range of civil engineering projects. The role will cover approximately 10 projects in the East Midlands with regular travel to sites and premises. This role will play a key part in maintaining high standards, supporting continual improvement and helping to build on an already strong Health and safety record.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

• Supporting health and safety across active developments, making sure company procedures are in place and followed
  * Carrying out regular site inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and reporting findings to site management
  * Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and briefings to site teams and subcontractors
  * Investigating incidents and near misses and supporting with close out actions
  * Working closely with Site Managers and Contracts Managers to drive standards across multiple developments

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

• Experience in a health and safety role ideally from within construction or a related industry
  * A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification)
  * Good communication skills and the confidence to engage with site teams and subcontractors
  * A practical approach with the drive to improve standards on site
  * A full UK driving licence
