Health and Safety Manager
Location:- Homebased but must be based around Leicester, Coventry, Corby or Kettering
Salary: Circa £50k plus car allowance
An Automotive manufacturing company with facilities in Corby, Stamford and Cannock, now require a Health and Safety Manager to join their team.
The company are accredited with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Health and Safety Manager – Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide HSE support for the 3 sites in Corby, Stamford & Cannock.
- Manage a small admin and HSE support team.
- Responsibility for Health & Safety Compliance in all aspects of the business
- Maintaining the ISO45001 system & accreditation
- Risk Assessments, Audits & Inspections, Documentation, Investigations, Safety Method Statements etc.
- Developing a culture of continual improvement and best practice in H&S and Environmental matters
- Advice & reporting to senior leadership team
- Responsibility for employee safety training
- Mentoring H&S Reps and Fire Safety Reps and chair the Safety Committee meeting
- Responsibility for Occupational Health Surveillance provision via outside contractors
- Responsibility for Environmental Compliance in all aspects of the business
- Maintaining the ISO14001 system & accreditation
- Responsibility for Environmental Compliance in all aspects of the business
- Responsibility for environmental permits, waste management and emissions control
- Liaise with Local Authorities, Emergency Services etc.
- Responsibility for employee environmental training
- External contractor management where required
Health and Safety Manager – Person Requirements
The ideal candidate MUST come from the Manufacturing Industry as a Health and Safety Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Ideally hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety
- Member of IOSH and working towards CMIOSH
- Experience with ISO systems ideally ISO 45001
- Ideally hold an environmental management qualification such as IEMA or CIEH (Not essential)
- Ideally managed multiple sites
- Holds a full UK Driving license.
