Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire
Pay: £17.00 per hour Days | £18.00 per hour Nights
Additional: Weekend work also available Sat £19.00 per hour - Sun £20.00 per hour

Join a Leading FMCG Logistics Operation – Class 1 Drivers Required
We are recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for our busy Lutterworth site. This role involves delivering FMCG products across the UK using modern Scania automatic units and 40ft tri‑axle curtainside trailers.

 The Role

• Nationwide Class 1 trunking and delivery work
• 1–3 drops per shift
• Deliveries to DCs, wholesalers, and Cash & Carry customers
• Some Aldi/Lidl deliveries (may require electric pallet truck use)
• Occasional fridge work (pre‑set — no manual temp management required)
• No handball
• Potential return loads
• Work may start from Lutterworth or run empty to:
  • East Midlands Gateway, or
  • London Gateway (Mars Contract)

Fleet & Equipment

• Scania automatic trucks
• 40ft tri‑axle curtainside trailers
• Loads secured using internal straps and bungees
• Well-maintained, modern equipment

Assessment Process
All drivers complete a structured onsite assessment, including:

• Written exercise (incl. bridge awareness)
• Driving assessment
• Reverse onto a bay
• Uncoupling & recoupling exercise

Driver Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles on FMCG routes
• Follow all Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and WTD rules
• Complete daily vehicle and trailer checks
• Accurately complete PODs and all paperwork
• Maintain communication with the Transport Office
• Report any delays, issues, or load discrepancies
• Work professionally and maintain strong fuel‑efficiency standards

Requirements

• Minimum 6 Months Class 1 experience (flexibility considered)
• Valid C+E licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card
• Maximum 6 penalty points (no DD/DR convictions)
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication skills and reliability

Pay & Shifts

• Days: £17.00 per hour
• Nights: £18.00 per hour
• Weekend work available
• Mostly day shifts
• Consistent work profile with well-organised routes
