HGV Field Service Engineer

Location: Nottinghamshire
Hours: 40–45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £44,000–£46,800 per year (DOE)

We’re looking for an experienced and customer‑focused HGV Field Service Engineer to join a mobile engineering team. The role involves travelling to different sites to service, repair, and maintain specialist commercial vehicles and associated equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on vehicle chassis and fitted equipment
• Complete routine servicing and general maintenance
• Prepare vehicles for inspection and ensure they meet legal standards
• Use diagnostic tools and software to find and fix issues
• Record all work accurately using handheld devices
• Visit customer locations across the UK when required
• Maintain a tidy and safe working environment
• Provide clear communication and good customer service
• Follow health & safety procedures and complete risk assessments

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Experience as an HGV technician, field service engineer or similar
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities
• Knowledge of vehicle systems and compliance requirements
• Confident working independently and organising your own workload
• Good communication and customer‑service skills
• Willingness to travel and work flexibly
• Basic computer skills for completing service documentation
• Extra skills welcome but not essential: EV experience, IRTEC, HGV Class 2
