HGV Mechanic

Location: Leicester
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 + every other Saturday
Pay:

• 0–42.5 hours: £19.29 per hour (Tariff 1)

• 42.5+ hours: £28.94 per hour (Tariff 2)

• Sundays: £38.58 per hour (Tariff 3)
  OTE: £45,000–£55,000+ (depending on hours and overtime worked)

A well-established organisation in Leicester is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in heavy commercial vehicles to take on a varied role within a supportive and highly skilled workshop environment.

The Role

As part of a team of experienced HGV mechanics, you will:

• Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, pre-MOT checks, and unscheduled repairs.

• Present vehicles for MOTs.

• Diagnose and repair faults quickly and effectively.

• Undertake welding, fabrication, and bin repairs.

• Complete all documentation accurately and on time.

• Attend ongoing internal and external training.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles.

• A positive “can-do” attitude and the ability to work independently.

• Flexibility to adapt to business needs and occasional Saturday work.

• A conscientious, detail-oriented approach to your work.

• Willingness to undertake further development and training.
