Job Description:

Personnel Solutions is looking for a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our client in Lutterworth.. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal operational performance. Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical experience, then carry out repairs efficiently.
• Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to repair or replace components.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of auxiliary equipment such as excavators and forklifts.
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance including HGVs
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and assembly techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on diagnostics and equipment repair.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and compliance documentation.
• Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical or electrical fields are desirable but not essential.
