Hire Desk Controller | Monday to FridayLocation: Derby
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday | Full-Time
Contract: Permanent
My client, a well-established
independent plant and equipment hire business, is on the lookout for an organised and experienced
Hire Desk Controller to support their day-to-day operations. This is a vital administrative and customer service role, ensuring smooth coordination between customers, drivers, and internal teams.
What you’ll be doing in your new Hire Desk Controller role- Handling inbound hire requests via phone and email
- Processing hire orders and maintaining accurate records
- Coordinating with drivers, depot teams and workshops
- Managing equipment availability and delivery schedules
- Responding to customer enquiries and issues in a timely manner
- Supporting the depot’s daily administration and system updates
The successful Hire Desk Controller will have- Previous experience in a hire desk or service coordinator role (preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Proficiency with computer systems and internal databases
- Calm and professional approach under pressure
