Job Description:

Position: Homologation Specialist
Salary: £41,885+ per annum (plus 5% performance-related bonus)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Location: Coventry
 
We are currently looking for a Homologation Specialist to join our client’s dedicated Compliance & Engineering team, supporting their ongoing commitment to delivering fully compliant, high-quality buses and coaches for the UK and Irish markets.
 
Homologation Specialist Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle homologation or regulatory compliance
• Knowledge of M2/M3 vehicle categories (buses/coaches)
• Strong understanding of EU WVTA, UNECE regulations, ISO standards, and Conformity of Production (CoP)
• Technical understanding of vehicle systems and testing processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 
Homologation Specialist Main Duties:

• Managing the full homologation process for new and existing vehicles
• Preparing and submitting documentation for national and international approvals
• Overseeing UK-specific adaptations from EU approvals and supporting Euro VII transition
• Acting as the main liaison with regulatory authorities
• Handling inspections, audits, and resolving compliance issues
• Managing retrofit approvals and ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Monitoring regulatory changes and supporting future compliance strategy
• Attending SMMT and CPT meetings and tracking government funding schemes
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date homologation documentation
• Working closely with engineering, quality and production teams to integrate compliance throughout vehicle development
