Housing Development and Acquisitions Manager

Job Description:

One of my local government clients are currently recruiting for an experienced Development and Acquisitions Officer to join our team within the Adults, Health Partnerships and Housing Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of new build council housing from inception to completion.

• Identify, assess and acquire sites/properties for permanent and temporary housing use.

• Contribute to the redevelopment and regeneration of council housing estates.

• Liaise with legal, planning, housing associations, estate agents, and internal stakeholders.

• Support property purchases, disposals, and feasibility assessments.

• Help secure and monitor funding from Homes England and other sources.

What You’ll Need:

• HND or equivalent experience in housing services or development.

• Strong understanding of affordable housing development processes.

• Experience in contract/project management and partnership working.

• Excellent communication, financial appraisal, and negotiation skills.

• Full driving licence and ability to travel around North Northamptonshire.

• Ability to work on-site 3 days per week.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the Homes England funding regime.

• Experience conducting viability appraisals and estate regeneration.

• Relevant professional qualification in housing, planning, or development.
