HVAC Mechanical Estimator

Job Description:

Are you an experienced HVAC Mechanical Estimator looking to join a growing and supportive contractor? Our client, a respected Midlands-based design & build specialist, is seeking a detail-focused Estimator with some HVAC design experience to support a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. You will be based in the Nottingham office, working across diverse, multifaceted HVAC and mechanical projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and project documents to prepare accurate HVAC/mechanical cost estimates
• Complete detailed take-offs for materials, labour and equipment, ensuring competitive costings
• Collaborate with design teams to review and optimise specifications for performance and value
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Prepare and present estimates, proposals and bid documentation aligned with client and project requirements

Skills & Experience

• Experience in HVAC/mechanical estimating with strong technical understanding of HVAC systems
• HND/HNC or degree in Mechanical Building Services or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficient using estimating software, spreadsheets and reading technical drawings
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
• Excellent communicator able to work independently or as part of a wider project team
