We are currently looking to recruit a Hose Technician to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Divisional Director, and working closely with the existing Hose Doctor Engineers, you will be providing 24 x 7, onsite hose replacement and technical support for a wide customer base. More details regarding working hours can be discussed upon enquiry. Hydraulic experience not required, someone from a mechanical background would be suitable.

Responsibilities:

• To provide a 24/7 on site, mobile hose replacement service responding within the hour to referred jobs in the Midlands area. Target is 100% on time.
• To provide 24hr call out coverage as per rota.  Average one week in four on call.
• To canvas new and prospective customers for business. Engineer is set targets, above which, commission is payable.
• To assist in the Derby workshop as and when deemed necessary.
• To ensure van and equipment is maintained in a smart, functional, roadworthy condition and that uniform is worn at all times and kept as clean as practicable.
• To control and maintain stock of all necessary products in the van. All stock is computer controlled, and any stock losses will be deducted from sales revenue.
• To complete all necessary paperwork / computer work, job sheets, stock transfers in an accurate, timely manner. Target of zero credit notes.

Skills / Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective and professional communication skills-verbal and written.
• Engineering background with a desire to learn.
• Be commercially aware.
• Experience of hose assembly manufacture and dealing with plant machinery would be desirable.
• Detail oriented and ability to multitask.
• Time management skills, prioritise responsibilities.
• Logical troubleshooting skills.
• Must hold a full driving licence.
