12 Month Contract - Possibility to extend for the right person

37.5 hours a week: 08:00-16:00 Mon-Fri

Up to £17.67 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £24.20

We’re looking for a Junior Buyer for our client’s site in Desford; to use their procurement expertise to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services, for a globally renowned Fortune 100 off highway machinery manufacturer. Junior Buyer - Skills and Experience required:

• Indirect purchasing - one day you could be making purchases for the canteen renovation, the next you might be ordering paint. The work is varied; it’s a great opportunity to learn and have exposure and independence in the role.
• Manage policies, agreements, source catalogues, and special purchasing programs
• Recognise the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
• Act as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.

What skills and experience will the Junior Buyer (Indirect) need?

Essential:

• 2 years minimum experience within purchasing - including recent contract negotiation experience, including areas such as IP, Liability, Warranties, Termination
• Experience leading/co-leading projects for stakeholder engagement across all levels
• Positive, proactive, keen and enthusiastic - personality will go a long way in this instance!
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident individual who can work from own initiative and pay attention to detail
  • Microsoft office proficient with a focus on Excel (Vlookup/Formulas)

Desirable:

• Power BI experience would be highly advantageous
