Trainee Quality Technician / Trainee Quality Engineer - £30-£35k DoE
Working for an Aerospace First Tier Supplier
Root Cause Analysis / Calibration of Equipment
Based between Long Eaton & Castle Donington – Site Based
5D are working alongside a leading precision engineering first-tier supplier based in the heart of the midlands. They supply to some of the most well-known companies including Rolls Royce and Siemens.
They are experts in sheet metal, fabrication, machining, assembly, and special processes, including welding, non-conventional machining, and heat treatments and have developed a consultative relationship with their clients due to their expertise and commitment to delivering a quality product and service.
Supplying into the Aerospace, nuclear, power generation, and precision engineering industry sectors and due to winning significant new projects with new and existing clients we are looking to grow the team.
Working alongside the Quality Manager, and drawing on his wealth of knowledge and experience. He is looking for someone he can train, develop, and mentor.
What the Role will Become:
- Quality engineering – root cause analysis of non-conforming products and processes.
- Development of corrective action plans.
- Hands on inspection of parts using traditional measuring equipment – verniers, calipers, slip and height gauges etc.
- Responsible for the managing the calibration database of equipment – this could include oven controls, CMM’s, gauges and other instrumentation.
- Calibration is conducted through a third party; your role will involve requesting the equipment to be calibrated within the required timescales.
- Communicating with customers, suppliers, and third parties as part of the RCA process.
What we are Looking for in the Candidate:
- Ideally from a shopfloor background, with a keen interest in quality.
- You will have an inquisitive nature and want to understand processes, why things go wrong, and how to correct the issues.
- Ideally you will have some experience within a quality setting, this could be in inspection, or root cause analysis etc.
- Experience in a high volume, precision manufacturing environment – ideally aerospace.
