Junior Service & Build Engineer – Mechanical - South Staffordshire + Travel – Permanent - £27-30k + overtime + 22 days holiday
Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Junior Service & Build Engineer for a specialist engineering company based in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The role of Junior Service & Build Engineer could suit someone who’s recently completed a hands on/mechanically biased apprenticeship or a Mechanically biased Degree course. Please note this role is “hands on” and isn’t desk / design focussed.
Key aspects of the Junior Service & Build Engineer opportunity include;
- Role will be a mix of working on the shop floor building up special purpose equipment as well as being trained and mentored to be able to service the mechanical aspects of the equipment on customer sites.
- Site work will be a mixture of UK & international; you won’t travel alone until you’re fully trained so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals
- Working week is 37.5 hours + overtime
- Role could suit someone who’s has practical / hands on hobbies e.g. car renovation, house renovation, model building etc.
- The type of equipment you’ll be working on includes conveyors and material handling systems
- Extended trips are pre-planned and the successful Service & Build Engineer would expect to know 2-3 weeks in advance of travelling
- The Service Manager estimates a split of 40% servicing to 60% building equipment on the shop floor
- All applicants must be comfortable working weekends when they’re away – customer sites are often shutdown to enable works to be carried out on weekends, so this is an essential part of the role
- Must be comfortable flying long haul, the company has clients in the US for example
- If you have your own car and licence and can get to Tamworth easily, then you can be under the age of 25. If you need to use a company vehicle for commuting, then due to the insurance terms, you’d need to be over the age of 25.
The company’s premises are easily commutable from places such as Tamworth, Birmingham, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Cannock, Burntwood, Walsall, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Burton-on-Trent and Swadlincote.
