About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Leicestershire area is seeking a KS1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. This role involves working closely with children in Key Stage 1, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their potential in a supportive classroom environment.
You will work alongside the class teacher and SEN staff to provide individual or small-group support, adapting activities and encouraging positive engagement with learning.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in KS1
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities
Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
Encourage independence and positive behaviour
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A passion for helping children reach their full potential
Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
