Lab Technician

Job Description:

Location: UK R&D Campus
Contract Length: ~6 months (Contract Worker role)
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday–Friday
Flexibility: Flexible start and finish times

Working with a global scientific and manufacturing organisation focused on developing advanced solutions that improve patient outcomes. With a long history of innovation across product development and commercial manufacturing, they operate state‑of‑the‑art facilities across both the UK and US.

Role Summary

The Lab Technician will join our product design and development function, supporting device development and testing activities. Working under supervision, this role ensures that laboratory work is executed to a high standard, delivering accurate and reliable data in line with internal and external project requirements.

You will help maintain best practice within the laboratory, contributing to the quality, consistency, and integrity of scientific outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it operates effectively.
• Follow operating instructions and undertake routine preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate where necessary.
• Record information accurately in laboratory logs and equipment records.
• Investigate and resolve problems by examining and evaluating data.
• Prepare samples and conduct routine laboratory testing according to procedures and protocols.
• Perform data checking and prepare written test reports.
• Develop working knowledge of laboratory procedures and subject matter.
• Work under direct supervision, escalating more complex issues to senior staff.
