Lead Controls Commissioning Engineer

Job Description:

• Lead the development and delivery of control system functions for retrofit automation projects
• Interpret customer and internal requirements to produce detailed control system designs
• Design and develop PLC and HMI software, primarily using Siemens S7 (300/400) and TIA Portal
• Emulate, test, and validate PLC code prior to site commissioning
• Develop and manage interfaces with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), WCS, HMIs, and SCADA
• Support and participate in on-site commissioning activities to ensure successful deployment and knowledge transfer
• Maintain revision control across PLC code libraries and ensure accurate as-built documentation
• Promote company engineering standards, best practice, and safety compliance
• Collaborate with Sales, Hardware Design, Systems Integration, and Realisation teams
• Support electro-mechanical layouts and control panel designs alongside hardware engineering teams
• Undertake additional system engineering, hardware engineering, and minor project management tasks as required (training provided)
