Job Description:

Lead Electrical Design Engineer, £60K - £70K, commutable from Ashby, Coalville, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham

• Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Controls Design Engineer / Control Systems Design Engineer looking to make a real impact in the industrial engineering sector?
• Join a dynamic team and take ownership of end-to-end design for bespoke electrical control systems across a variety of exciting projects.
• £60K - £70K salary guide + benefits including 25 days holiday, pension, and flexibility on working hours.

Your background as a Lead Electrical Design Engineer:

• Previous experience of working in a senior level electrical design or electrical controls design or control systems design focused position within an industrial engineering / manufacturing environment.  
• Strong understanding of electrical components and control panel systems.
• Be able to use CAD tools / electrical design software such as AutoCAD etc...
• Be able to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams from concept to commissioning to successfully deliver projects.
• You will hold a recognised electrical engineering qualification e.g., apprenticeship, HNC, HND, degree etc...

Lead Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the full engineering project lifecycle.
• Engaging with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide technical input into project tenders.
• Designing and developing detailed 2D and 3D electrical models, I/O schematics, and control panel layout drawings.
• Ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client expectations.
• Collaborating with panel builders, electricians, and PLC programmers to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges throughout the design and installation process.
