About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Toolroom Machinist to join our skilled engineering team, supporting the manufacture and maintenance of high-quality tooling components used in the automotive industry.

This role is ideal for an experienced machine operator or machinist who enjoys precision work, operating both manual and CNC machinery, and wants to develop new skills in EDM wire erosion and CAD/CAM machining.

You’ll work within a well-equipped toolroom, producing components to tight tolerances, supporting production teams, and helping keep our tooling and fixtures in top condition.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and maintain manual and CNC milling, turning, and grinding machines.
• Set and run EDM wire erosion machines (full training provided if needed).
• Work from detailed engineering drawings and job cards.
• Machine components to precise specifications and high-quality standards.
• Support toolroom repairs, die maintenance, and fixture preparation.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and safe to use.
• Collaborate with engineers, toolmakers, and production staff to meet deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement (Kaizen) and 5S activities.
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures (IATF16949, ISO14001, ISO45001).

About You

You’ll have a strong background in machining or precision manufacturing, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently as part of a close-knit team.

Essential Skills:

• Experience operating milling, turning, or grinding machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable (Training Provided):

• Experience with EDM wire erosion.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and manufacturing processes.
• Previous experience in a toolroom or automotive environment.
