Maintenance Electrician

Day Shifts in a Heavy Industrial Environment
Location: Ilkeston

Salary: £51,086
Hours: Monday–Friday, Early Shift (5:30–14:00) or Late Shift (13:30–22:00)
 

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join a hardworking maintenance team. You’ll be maintaining and repairing heavy-duty plant and machinery in a large-scale, tough, and dusty environment — so experience in industrial settings is essential.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out planned maintenance and react quickly to faults
• Keep machinery downtime to a minimum with efficient electrical repairs
• Follow all safety procedures and help improve plant systems
• Use CMMS system to manage tasks and complete documentation accurately
• Work closely with the team across maintenance, yard, and operations
• Support audits and supervise contractors when needed

What we’re looking for:

• Electrically qualified with proven experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience with PLCs, inverters, motor controls, and safety circuits
• Knowledge of screeners, shredders, conveyors and other large plant equipment
• Time-served electrical apprenticeship preferred
• Any mechanical skills or training is a bonus
