Maintenance Engineer - Days

Job Description:

New opportunity for a Days only Maintenance Engineer/ Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business in South Nottingham.

This is a new position, and as Maintenance Engineer you will assist production with basic maintenance and repair of a range of site equipment, and facilities to support Production, Warehouse, and Quality operations. The role involves a mix of hands-on repairs and coordination with external contractors, depending on service agreements in place. 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30, early finish on a Friday (some flex on start / finish times)

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs across the site including mechanical work, carpentry, plumbing, and general facilities 
• Manage contractor work where applicable, depending on equipment service contracts
• Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure plant equipment runs efficiently

Candidate Requirements for Maintenance Engineer:

• Must have knowledge of general maintenance procedures, techniques and requirements for the repair, installation, modification and upkeep of specified plant facilities, systems, equipment and grounds.
• Requires skill in the use of basic hand and power tools, test equipment, fork lift and company vehicle.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret maintenance and repair manuals, schematics and other written instructions.

This role will suit someone who is possibly in an Assistant Maintenance Engineer role now, or has been in maintenance for a while but isn`t formally qualified.
