About Us
We are a fast-paced, forward-thinking production facility, committed to innovation, efficiency, and the highest standards in food manufacturing. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, safety, and quality, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in keeping our automated production facility running at peak performance.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of automated machinery and equipment. Working closely with production teams, you’ll help drive performance through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about engineering excellence.
Shift Pattern is Monday to Friday 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm (alternating weeks)
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and communicate clearly with production on expected downtime and solutions
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing in line with schedules
- Support the commissioning and installation of new equipment
- Work collaboratively with the production and engineering teams to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and enhance machinery performance
- Complete all necessary engineering documentation accurately and on time
- Attend team meetings and contribute to improvements in GMP, safety, and efficiency
- Identify and implement solutions to reduce waste and inefficiencies
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment, in line with Health & Safety policies and “audit-ready” site standards
- Take part in ongoing training and development, including becoming a super-user on key equipment
- Support in completing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with site procedures
What We’re Looking For
- City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3 or above in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Recognised apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced automated production facility
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Proactive and self-motivated with excellent communication skills
- A keen focus on Health & Safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional travel to other sites
- Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery environments
- Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene standards
- Familiarity with Moba grading equipment, automation, and tray wash systems
- IOSH Working Safely certification (training provided if required)
