Maintenance Engineer

Job Description:

Salary: £42,000 - £45,857 per year 
Hours: Weekend Nights (Friday–Sunday, finishing Monday morning)
Shift Pattern: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (36 hours per week, 33 after break deduction)
Initial Training: Role will start on day shifts (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for an agreed training period before moving to the night rota. Day shifts will be paid at the standard rate.

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our expanding team at our Tamworth site. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a business that is investing heavily in its people, facilities, and technology.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment for PCB manufacturing lines, including chemical etching, plating, and lamination systems. The role involves a mix of reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.

• Respond quickly to plant breakdowns and ensure root causes are identified and resolved.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance autonomously and collaboratively.
• Communicate effectively with operations teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records using the Frontline Maintenance Management system.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company SHE policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and root cause analysis.
• Liaise with suppliers for spare parts and equipment as required.

• Qualifications: Minimum City & Guilds Level 2 in Electrical Engineering (ONC preferred).
• Experience: At least 3 years as a Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of safe systems of work (permit to work, risk assessments, method statements).
• Experience with planned/preventative maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (Frontline preferred).
• HSE training and understanding of relevant legislation.
