Job Description:
Maintenance Manager - Desford - c£30ph PAYE - 12 Months
Are you a hands-on Maintenance Manager who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're looking for an experienced leader to drive equipment reliability, safety and operational efficiency, while leading and developing a high performing maintenance team (4 team leaders and 30 personnel).
We are looking: -
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in maintenance planning and execution within a large scale and high-pressure manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make decisions based on KPIs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills - able to gather information, evaluate risks/benefits and document decisions
- Proven problem-solving ability, identifying root causes, understanding stakeholder perspectives and using diagnostic tools to implement effective solutions
- Experience in developing training programmes and competency frameworks
- Familiarity with reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and criticality analysis
- Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering (e.g. City & Guilds)

- High completion rate of planned maintenance work orders
- Reduction in overdue work orders and unplanned downtime
- Improved team competency, engagement and performance
- Visible improvements in safety, quality and cost metrics
Role: Maintenance Manager
Location: Site based in Desford, Leicestershire
Rate: c£30 ph PAYE with Pension and Holiday
Hours: 37.5 per week, Mon - Wed 6am to 2:30pm, Thurs 6am to 2pm, Fri - 6am to 12:00
