Contract Maintenance Technician – Electrical Bias (Shift-based Manufacturing)
12-Month Contract | Competitive Hourly Rate + Overtime | 6-Week Rotating Shifts | Immediate Start
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading precision manufacturing and engineering business on a 12-month contract. This is a hands-on, shift-based role in a fast-paced, safety-critical production environment.
The Role
You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and control systems across production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Key tasks include:
- Electrical fault-finding and repair on motors, drives, sensors, panels, and conveyors
- Diagnosing and resolving issues on PLCs, HMIs, and variable frequency drives
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
- Performing preventive maintenance (PPM) and recording accurate maintenance data
- Supporting continuous improvement and root-cause analysis activities
- Working safely under permit-to-work and lockout/tagout (LOTO) systems
About You
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance
- Proven experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial automation environments
- Confident with PLC fault-finding, electrical isolations, and technical documentation
- Flexible to work rotating day and night shifts (3 on / 3 off)
