The Company and Role

This business is a specialist engineering company with decades of experience providing high-quality conventional Manual Machinist services. They pride themselves on precision, craftsmanship, and delivering solutions across horizontal boring, vertical boring, turning, and milling. 

Are you an experienced Manual Machinist who is looking for a new challenge? You will be responsible for operating manual machinery to produce high-quality components to specification. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong conventional machining skills to work with a variety of equipment and tackle diverse projects.

Onsite Machinery includes: Horizontal Borer, Vertical Borer, Horizontal Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder and other Manual Machines. 

Manual Machinist Hours and Pay 

• £33,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
• 39 hours per week: 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Thursday, 2:30pm on Friday’s (with some flexibility) 

This role is commutable From: Swadlincote, Burton on Trent, Ashby de la Zouch, Derby, Rugeley

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist.
• Proficiency in horizontal/vertical boring, turning, and milling ideally. 
• Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of machine maintenance and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• The Manual Machinist will set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, and boring machines.
• Produce components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct routine quality checks and maintain tolerances.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and maintain a tidy workspace.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve processes and efficiency.
