Manual Machinist – Permanent Role – £16.00 + Monthly Bonus

Location: NG16 - Jackdale area
Hours: Full Time – Permanent 7am - 5:30pm

Orbital Recruitment are seeking a reliable and skilled Manual Machinist to join a busy precision engineering workshop in the Nottingham area. This is a straight permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate plus a monthly performance bonus.

Job Overview

As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating manual machines to produce high‑quality engineered components to specification. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately from engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances
• Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications
• Select appropriate tooling and feeds/speeds
• Carry out routine quality checks
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area
• Report any issues or deviations to the supervisor

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a manual machinist or similar role
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings
• Good understanding of machining techniques and tooling
• Accurate, reliable and a good team worker
• Self‑motivated with a quality‑driven mindset
