Job Description:
Role Purpose
The Manufacturing/Engineering Maintenance Engineer which a hands on role, is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all plant, equipment, and facilities. The role leads the maintenance function to maximise asset availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support production through a proactive, reliability-led maintenance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Lead and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all maintenance activities
- Ensure all work complies with H&S legislation, company standards, and safe systems of work
- Own risk assessments, permits, lockout/tagout, and contractor safety
- Investigate incidents and near misses related to maintenance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- PPE, Dress code in line with company standards.
2. Asset Reliability & Uptime
- Ensure high levels of equipment availability and reliability
- Reduce unplanned downtime through effective fault analysis and prevention
- Maintain accurate asset histories and failure data
3. Maintenance Strategy & Planning
- Develop and deploy a planned and preventive maintenance strategy
- Balance reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities
- Ensure effective maintenance planning, scheduling, and backlog control
4. Contractor & Supplier Management
- Manage external contractors and service providers
- Ensure contractors meet safety, quality, and performance expectations
- Control contractor costs and effectiveness
- Build effective relationships with key suppliers
