JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Planner
LOCATION: Derby
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (flexible depending on production needs)
PAY: up to £30,000 per year (depending on experience)
Frontline Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading manufacturer in engineering and automation solutions. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Planner to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling manufacturing activities across machining, laser cutting and folding, fabrication, and electrical/mechanical assembly, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal material usage, and timely delivery of products.

THE ROLE
- Plan and prepare production schedules for each manufacturing cell, monitoring and tracking KPIs
- Drive the overall manufacturing plan to meet customer forecasted delivery schedules
- Liaise with the Stores Team to identify material requirements and availability to achieve schedules
- Analyse production specifications and manufacturing data to establish material, tooling, and resource requirements
- Plan sequences for machining, laser cutting/folding, fabrication, and assembly to maximise efficiency
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust plans to meet unforeseen conditions
- Prepare manufacturing reports highlighting deviations from schedules and impacts on the overall plan
- Generate accurate manufacturing schedules, purchasing requisitions, and respond to project orders and forecasts
- Support team attitudes to meet customer expectations, including handling enquiries and administrative/commercial tasks
- Coordinate activities across adjoining teams to ensure operational efficiency
- Liaise with Sales and Stores teams on delivery and availability issues
THE REQUIREMENTS
- MRP/ERP systems experience (essential)
- Engineering manufacturing-related qualification (essential)
- Advanced Excel skills (essential)
- Previous experience in a planning or scheduling role (preferable)
- Strong planning skills with flexibility to adapt to project changes
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- Team player with a focus on operational efficiency
- Proficient IT skills
