You will be working in the Supply Chain Planning department. The role itself provides co-ordination and expertise in the areas of New Product Introduction & Current Product Change, co-ordinating part introduction or changes across Multiple manufacturing sites
We have been recruiting extensively for our Leicester based client and are looking to add another person to this close knit, successful team.
Materials Planner / Controller – Nr Leicester (around 10-15 mins from M1 / Leicester Forest Junction)Education/Experience:
Ideally some form of either supply chain, material planning, shipping planning, supplier chasing, ensuring on time deliveries or related field job experience.
Good supplier liaison skills
Progress chasing, Materials Chasing, Coordinating Supply Chain, Expediting, Production / Manufacturing control exp preferred
Key Skills;
Required to accept responsibility and produce highest productivity and quality work, maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within supply chain organisation
Job Role:
- Previous experience of working with a Supply Chain, Materials Planning or Manufacturing planning role or job relevant experience
- Willing to train somebody with 1-2 years experience within a related Planning position
- Working in MRP system to set supplier schedules
- Strong excel skills

Requires problem-solving skills to Root Cause Corrective Action and solve common problems
- Using on-line supplier collaboration portal to ensure efficient and timely supplier / manufacturing communication
- Instigate material expedites when a line shortage is identified
- Communicate potential material shortages and status reports with operations teams if required.
- Track and monitor internal & external performance levels
- Hold regular performance reviews with peers to drive improvements
- Escalate poor performance to Purchasing & Engineering teams.
- Review material planning parameters to ensure optimum inventory holding to ensure consistent production and inventory turns targets are met.
Optimizing material flow throughout the plant site. Servicing production area.
Long term ongoing contract, working within an enthusiastic supply chain team
Rates
The client is ideally looking to pay £21 - £21.50 (FCSA Umbrella – this role is inside IR35) or £15.50 - £16.00 paye to the successful candidate, however may have scope consider above this on a case by case/individual basis.
