Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Leicester, UK (international travel required)

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role offers exposure to full-cycle machinery design, research and development, and international customer interaction. Graduates through to senior engineers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead top-level design of machinery to meet customer specifications

• Produce detailed and assembly drawings

• Support R&D activities and generate design calculations

• Collaborate with controls and software engineers

• Provide technical support to the sales team, including customer visits in the UK and overseas

• Work closely with purchasing and production teams to meet budgets and schedules

• Liaise with suppliers and contribute to specification writing, manuals, BOMs and CE/Health & Safety documentation

• Ensure engineering quality standards are maintained

• Project management experience beneficial

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc/BEng/MSc) or equivalent experience

• Proficient in 3D CAD, ideally SolidWorks

• Broad engineering background in special-purpose or bespoke machinery

• Experience with MRP systems preferred

Package

• Salary: £30,000 (junior) to £65,000 (senior)

• Hours: 37.5 per week, 9am-5pm
