Mechanical Design Engineer (Siemens NX) – 12 Month Contract – Derby (Onsite) – £40–45/hour

Overview
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Siemens NX experience for a 12-month onsite contract in Derby. This is a hands-on role working in a high-integrity engineering environment, producing robust mechanical designs and supporting delivery across the design lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design using Siemens NX

• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed component designs

• Support concept through to detail design and release

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input

• Ensure designs meet functional requirements and are suitable for manufacture

• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and manage changes

• Maintain documentation and configuration control in line with internal processes

Required Skills / Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in an engineering/manufacturing environment

• Strong Siemens NX capability (modelling and assemblies essential)

• Good knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacture principles

• Able to work onsite in Derby for the duration of the contract

• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver to deadlines

Rate & Duration

• £40–46 per hour (dependent on experience)

• 12-month contract

• Onsite in Derby
