Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an established FM company working on a static contract in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for stability, long-term progression, and the option to go permanent with a reputable national facilities management provider.

Mechanical Engineer – Derby (FM Sector)
Pay: £24ph CIS 
Permanent Salary: £38,000
Location: Static Derby site (occasional assistance at nearby sites if required)
Contract: Temp OR Temp-to-Perm
Hours: Full-time

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineer:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical building services

• Reactive maintenance and repair works

• Fault finding and diagnostic work across a range of mechanical systems

• General mechanical duties within a commercial environment

• Involvement  with AHUs, FCUs, pumps, valves, pipework, plant room equipment, and similar mechanical FM assets 

• Occasional support at nearby sites when required (mileage or travel paid as applicable)

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven mechanical engineering experience within commercial FM

• Knowledge of HVAC-related mechanical systems (AHUs/FCUs experience beneficial but not essential)

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability

• Good communication and reliability

• Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
