Mechanical Fitter

Job Description:

Our client, who supports the Automotive sector has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established team and are looking to recruit someone for an immediate start.

As a Mechanical Fitter:

You will work on new and refurbished resistance welding machines that are supplied to a wide range of clients from within the automotive industry.

• Overhauling, repairing and refurbishing parts and equipment
• Fulfill parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained hence minimizing downtime
• Assist with ongoing project work e.g. new equipment installations
• Undertake any reasonable requests for training, either internally or externally, to improve performance and capabilities
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours when cover is required

Qualifications / Key Skills:

• Apprenticeship in associated field or adequate experience
• Working knowledge of various types of welding machines an advantage
• Ability to work under instruction and on own initiative
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work safely and adhering to health and safety protocols good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical trades are desirable
