The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the assembly, build and installation of bespoke converting and packaging machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering environment working on technically advanced equipment.

Commutable from: Leicester, Wigston, Oadby, Loughborough, Coalville, Hinckley, Syston, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Coventry, Thurmaston, Markfield

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of semi and fully automatic converting machinery

• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings

• Building sub-assemblies and full machine builds to high standards

• Installing mechanical components, including drives, rollers, bearings, pneumatics and structural frames

• Assisting with machine testing and commissioning

• Working collaboratively with design and electrical teams

• Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience working with bespoke or special-purpose machinery (desirable)

• Good understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics and assembly processes

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexible and proactive approach
