Job Description:
Our client delivers a diverse range of high‑quality automotive services, supported by state‑of‑the‑art workshops and expert technicians trained to meet a variety of manufacturer standards. They are currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join their team in Corby.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine assigned vehicles to determine if safety or service work is required.
- Perform all levels of vehicle diagnosis and repair.
- Diagnose mechanical and, when required, electrical faults.
- Perform road and ramp testing and inspections as required.
- Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Review job cards/estimates and accurately record repair time.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and all company procedures are followed.
- Plan and organise workload effectively to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.
- Assist and support the training of new staff members.
Requirements
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) – essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Flexibility to work overtime on a weekend rota
- Full valid UK driving licence held for at least 2 years
- Professional, punctual, and courteous conduct at all times
- Positive attitude and strong team ethos
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in unexpected situations
