A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a highly modern, fully automated and fast paced manufacturing facility. This Mechanical Supervisor position is based at a site that has recently benefited from significant investment, establishing it as one of the most advanced operations within its sector. This role would suit a capable Mechanical Supervisor with strong mechanical and welding skills who is looking to lead from the front within a heavy industrial environment. The business offers clear progression routes, allowing the Mechanical Supervisor to advance into senior engineering or management positions over time.
In this Mechanical Supervisor role, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical maintenance, fabrication, welding and structural repair work across a range of automated production machinery and plant equipment. The Mechanical Supervisor will lead a team of engineers, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, support heavy plate fabrication and structural modifications, and ensure breakdown support is delivered efficiently to maximise plant uptime while maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Sector: Industrial Factory Maintenance Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical SupervisorStrong mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial factory or heavy engineering environment
Proven experience supervising or leading maintenance teams in a fast paced industrial setting
Hands on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance
Strong welding and fabrication knowledge including heavy plate and structural work
Proven mechanical fault finding and repair experience
Experience leading, coordinating or mentoring maintenance engineers
Ability to plan and prioritise maintenance activities to minimise downtime
Experience working within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor in the UK
Apprentice trained or Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
Experience working on automated production machinery
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
Previous experience managing shift handovers and maintenance KPIs
Working for a market-leading manufacturing business
