Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby - Tradewind Recruitment
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Corby and the surrounding areas. This role is ideal for candidates with experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or those with a background in psychology, youth work, care, or support work.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support in the classroom.
The Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support pupils who may struggle with anxiety, behaviour, trauma, or other mental health needs. You may work on a 1:1 basis or with small groups to help pupils engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom
Providing 1:1 or small group support
Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour
Building positive and trusting relationships with students
Supporting the teacher with classroom management
Following safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
Requirements
Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
Background in education, psychology, youth work, care, or support work desirable
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Ability to provide recent references
