Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Milling CNC Setter/Operator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring high-quality production of parts according to specified drawings and designs. The role requires an understanding of CNC programming, machine operation, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Select and install tools, fixtures, and workpieces on the CNC machine.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Load and align raw materials and tooling on the CNC machine.
- Monitor machine performance during operation, adjusting settings as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC milling machines and report any malfunctions.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with tolerances and quality standards.
- Make adjustments to the program or machine settings to correct issues and improve part quality.
- Ensure that production deadlines are met while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot any production issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Setter/Operator (minimum of 5 years).
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operations (experience with [specific CNC machines or software, if applicable]).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or relevant trade qualification is preferred).
- Previous experience with [specific types of CNC milling machines, if applicable, e.g., Haas, Mazak, Siemens controllers, etc.] is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Familiarity with CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Ability to set up and troubleshoot advanced tooling and machine configurations.
- Experience with machining a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
