Multi-Skilled Engineer
Salary: £47,000
Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday | Weekly rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm
Join a business that has grown impressively from £4 million to £16 million turnover in just five years. Our client is now looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of a Multi-Skilled Engineer to support continued growth and operational excellence.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and developing the plant's Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme. You'll apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reactive tasks with the aim of progressing towards a more predictive maintenance culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the implementation and enhancement of the PPM strategy.
Providing timely and clear communication on maintenance activities.
Accurately recording tasks using the department’s CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
Ensuring all activities are conducted with a strong focus on food safety standards and full traceability.
Supporting and guiding Production Technical Operators in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices.
Collaborating with the production team to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The Person – What We’re Looking For
Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification – preferably electrically biased with solid mechanical skills.
17th Edition certification (desirable).
Experience with PLC and servo drive diagnostics.
Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems.
Stainless steel (S/S) welding skills.
A proactive attitude toward plant reliability and continuous improvement.
High awareness of Health & Safety standards.
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on engineering experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
A results-driven mindset with a desire to improve processes and personal performance.
