Location: South Leicestershire (Leicester area) — commutable from Leicester, Wigston, Blaby, Enderby, Narborough (LE, LE2/LE8/LE19)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £45k-£55k (DOE) 

About the role
Long‑established, privately owned supplier (c. £45m turnover) needs an Operations Manager to own the daily flow and tighten planning. You’ll enhance what works—not rip it up.

You’ll focus on

• Inbound → Storage → Outbound orchestration to hit OTIF and cost targets.

• Peaks of c. 25 containers/week (slotting, unload sequence, dock‑to‑stock).

• Haulier/Carrier management (bookings, SLAs, recoveries).

• Promo readiness (stock, space, labour, carrier bookings).

• SOPs & training that embed the “house way.”

You’ll bring

• High‑volume warehousing/distribution (FMCG/consumer or similar).

• WMS (Warehouse Management System) & ERP literacy; strong Excel.

• Calm, solution‑focused, sleeves‑rolled‑up style; data‑led decisions.

• Real experience scheduling containers and coordinating hauliers/3PLs.

Success looks like

• Dock‑to‑stock ≤ 24h avg (incl. peak).

• OTIF ≥ 98.5%, Pick ≥ 99.5%, near‑zero demurrage/detention.

• Promo playbook running; predictable seasonality.

Operations Manager; Warehouse Operations; Logistics; Distribution; Inbound; Outbound; Transport; Carrier/Haulier Management; Container Scheduling; Imports; 3PL; WMS (Peoplevox/Manhattan/Blue Yonder/Despatch Cloud or similar); ERP (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics or similar); Inventory/Stock Control; S&OP; OTIF; Dock‑to‑Stock; H&S; IOSH/NEBOSH; Lean/CI; FMCG.
