Painter - Housing

Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Painter to join North West Leicestershire Council's Housing Service on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works across a range of council properties

• Complete maintenance and repair works to the required standards, following current regulations and manufacturer’s guidance

• Maintain accurate job records, including time, materials and work completed using a smart device (PDA)

• Undertake repair surveys and prepare material lists

• Ensure vehicle stock levels are maintained to support a ‘Right First Time’ approach

• Liaise with the Asset Management Support Team to schedule and plan work

• Comply with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices

• Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ/City & Guilds in Painting or approximately 5 years’ proven experience

• Full UK driving licence

• Experience working in occupied domestic or residential buildings

• Ability to interpret repair needs, follow manufacturers' instructions and health and safety legislation

• Ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team
