A leading UK engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of paint finishing plants, spray booths, and bespoke industrial equipment.
The Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled Panel Wirer to join a busy manufacturing team, working on the assembly and wiring of electrical control panels for industrial systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical wiring, a good eye for detail, and the ability to work from technical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, both bespoke and standardised builds
- Working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Mounting and wiring components such as contactors, relays, timers, PLCs, switches, and terminals
- Performing continuity checks, testing, and fault finding prior to final installation
- Ensuring wiring is neat, labelled, and completed to industry standards and company specifications
- Collaborating with engineers and production staff to ensure timely and accurate builds
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures on site
About You:
- Proven experience as a Panel Wirer in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
- Competent in safe use of hand tools, crimping tools, and wire strippers
- Experience working on control panels for machinery, HVAC, or similar applications (spray booth experience desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
Licence/Certification Required:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (beneficial but not essential)
- Background in spray booth or industrial oven control systems (preferred)
