Job Description:

Civils Planner (Groundworks / Earthworks)
Permanent Role

We’re working with a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering a strong pipeline of infrastructure and groundwork schemes across the Midlands and beyond. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Civils Planner with a solid background in groundworks and earthworks to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a key role within the business, supporting pre-construction and live project delivery, working closely with operational teams to drive programme certainty and performance.

The Role

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from tender stage through to completion
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure realistic and achievable programmes
• Identify critical paths, risks, and opportunities within project schedules
• Monitor progress on live sites and update programmes accordingly
• Provide regular reporting on programme performance and key milestones
• Assist in delay analysis and programme recovery where required
• Support bid teams with planning input for tenders and submissions

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Planner within civil engineering
• Strong background in groundworks and/or earthworks projects
• Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject
• Good understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and temporary works
• Ability to communicate effectively with site and senior management teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Relevant construction or engineering qualification (preferred but not essential)
