Planning Manager – Water Infrastructure Projects (Primavera P6 | NEC3/4)
Full-Time | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary
An exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to take the lead on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from early-stage design through to commissioning and handover. This is a high impact role where you will shape and manage robust, contract-compliant programmes that keep delivery on track and stakeholders aligned.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed, logic-linked project programmes using Primavera P6.

Ensure NEC3/NEC4 compliance.

Lead integrated planning across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Monitor project performance, analyse critical paths, and produce clear programme reports.

Provide 4-week and 12-week lookaheads, drive programme reviews, and support risk mitigation.

Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure programme accuracy and accountability.

Support and mentor junior planners while maintaining high planning governance standards.
What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in planning MEICA works within the UK water sector.

Advanced user of Primavera P6 and strong knowledge of NEC contract planning requirements.

Confident communicator with the ability to influence, guide and align multi-disciplinary teams.

Deep understanding of design, procurement, construction, and commissioning dependencies.

Skilled in earned value management, risk-based scheduling, and schedule recovery planning.
Preferred Qualifications:

HND/Degree in Engineering or equivalent project planning experience.

APM, PMI, or NEC-accredited qualifications are highly desirable.

Familiarity with Power BI or other data-driven reporting tools is a bonus.
