Role: PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (November 2025 – April 2026)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced PMLD SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Loughborough. This is a full-time temporary role starting in November 2025 and continuing until April 2026.

The school supports pupils aged 4–19 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. With outstanding facilities including a heated swimming pool, soft play and sensory areas, and dedicated multi-sensory rooms, the school provides a safe and inspiring environment for both pupils and staff.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Assisting with personal care, communication, and mobility needs

• Delivering and adapting learning activities to suit highly individualised education plans

• Using specialist equipment and sensory resources to support learning and engagement

• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet complex needs

• Promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing for all pupils

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex needs

• Confidence in assisting with personal care and moving & handling (training can be provided)

• Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different communication and learning styles

• A caring, compassionate approach with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
